Marion (Brown) Dodds
I graduated in 1960 and as noted in the Yearbook that year Don Dodds was a good friend. Well we will be celebrating 47 years of marriage this fall. We have two sons Bryan and Stephen and Bryan is married and he and his wife Lori have three daughters 19, 17 and 2. After finishing school, I worked for a couple years at Met Life and then became a stay-at-home Mom. I returned to the work force when our youngest started school and worked in Municipal Government for 25 years — Pakenham, Lanark, Lanark Highlands and a contract at Mississippi Mills. My husband Don taught at Almonte High School for about 30 years.
Mary Daszkowski
I retired from teaching in 2005 – 29 years in Catholic system: 10 years in Grades 7&8 and the rest teaching, Department leader of Religion – mostly in Sarnia. Have Masters of Religious Ed. From St. Michael’s in Toronto. Moved back to Pakenham area in 1993 to look after aging parents. Taught in Perth and Carleton Place. Too young(?) to retire so I work half time as Chaplain at Notre Dame and am associate, teaching Religion as AQEO courses. My only brother (Dash) has MS and I am back looking after him. My passion is 3rd world development – Haiti is where my heart is – having been 5 or 6 times to work there: not in religious capacity- literally work with teachers. I belong to Holy Name of Mary Parish in Almonte. My dwelling is the former school house S.S #2 Sadler’s where I attended Grade 1 (a little creepy!) I love the outdoors and spend spring, summer and fall gardening, now with a new Jack Russell puppy. I have the greatest respect for those who taught me at ADHS and still mention them by name to my students. I think the greatest gift I was given was the understanding that I could think independently. The novel “Heart of Darkness” by Joseph Conrad and a multitude of poetry were the keys. I remember Chris Gilmour every time I pass his house.
